Gift cards that sell themselves, promo codes you can account for
Sell gift cards online or at the desk, and run promo codes with real limits. Every card has a ledger and every code shows who used it and how many times, so you know what each offer cost you.

A discount code nobody can trace and a gift card balance that lives on a scrap of paper are both money you cannot see.
Promo codes with the limits that matter
Take a percentage or a fixed amount off the joining fee, the first payment, the first few payments or every payment. Then limit it so it cannot be abused.
- Percent or amount off, applied to the signup fee, first period, a set number of periods or forever
- Valid from and until dates, and a total number of uses
- A limit per person, so one member cannot stack the same code
- Restrict to chosen plans and chosen locations

See who used which code, and how many times
Open any code to see its usage page: total uses, how many different members, the discount given in all and the uses left. Below that is every single use, with the member, the date, the plan, the location and the discount.
- Per-member counts you can sort, so repeat users stand out
- A full list of every use with plan, location and discount
- Uses left against the limit you set
- Archive a code and it stops working for new sign-ups, while people who used it keep what they got

Members see the saving before they pay
While someone types a code at checkout, the page shows what they will pay today and afterwards, and what the code takes off. A code that does not apply says why.
- Price shown before and after the code
- The terms the member got are kept on their membership, so a later change never rewrites them
- Codes you share work the same online and at the desk

Gift cards, sold online or at the desk
Anyone can buy a gift card from your studio page with their saved card, with a message and the recipient's email. We email them the code. Staff can also issue a card from the back office.
- Codes that are easy to read out, with no confusing characters
- Optional expiry date, and a card can be spent at any of your locations
- A card is only created once the payment has gone through
- Find any card by code from the command palette

A ledger for every balance
Each card has a history: loaded, spent, refunded to the card, cancelled. Spend it at the till or toward a membership. If one is lost, cancel it and the remaining balance is written off in the ledger.
- Balance, initial value, expiry and status for every card
- Cards spent at the till or on a membership, each use recorded
- Refunding a sale puts what the card paid back on it
- Cards can be held by one member or given to anyone with the code

Questions
Does the money go to us directly?
Online gift card payments go to your studio's own account.
Can a code be used by the same person twice?
Only if you allow it. Set uses per person and the system enforces it.
Can I see which members used a code?
Yes. The usage page lists every member, date, plan, location and discount for the code.
What happens to a code I no longer want?
A code nobody has used can be deleted. After that it is archived, so it stops working for new sign-ups and the record stays.
Can I cancel a lost gift card?
Yes. The remaining balance is written off in the card's ledger and it can never be spent again.
