About Gymdesk

Gymdesk is gym management software, mainly used by martial arts and combat sports schools. Its pricing page and help center say plans are month to month. This page compares them fairly: where Gymdesk's published terms are good, we say so.

Ask Gymdesk these questions before you sign or leave

The binding terms are often in an order form, not on a pricing page. Get the answers in writing.

How is your plan price set as your active member count grows?
What are text messages and payment processing billed at, and is the plan price lower with Gymdesk Payments than with your own processor?
How long is the initial term, and does it renew by itself?
How much notice do you need to give to leave, who can send it, and how?
Are there early termination fees, or fees that fall due if you leave early?
Can you export every member, membership and payment record as files, and does it cost anything?
Does the contract say who owns the data, and what happens to it after you cancel?
Must you use their payment processing, and what do they add on top of the processor's fees?
What do onboarding, data migration, text messages, a branded app and extra locations cost?

Where Gymdesk may suit you better

You run a martial arts or combat sports gym and want belt and rank tracking, which Gymdesk lists.

Moving over from Gymdesk

Take your data out

Ask your current provider for a member and payment history export while your account is still open. Many providers remove access when you cancel.
Import

Bring it in

Use the import centre to load members, memberships, the timetable, products, gift cards, leads, payment history and attendance. Check a batch, and undo it if it is wrong.
Go live

Switch when you are ready

Run both side by side while you check the numbers. Set up your plans, classes and payments, then move your members across.

Questions

Is Gymdesk month to month?

Yes, per its pricing page and help center: month to month from day one, with no minimum term and no cancellation cost. Its SaaS terms also say fees are payable for the subscription term, non-cancelable and non-refundable, so fees you have already paid are not returned.

Can I move my members from Gymdesk to us?

Yes. Export your members, memberships and payment history from Gymdesk while your account is still open, then load them with the import centre. A batch can be checked and undone, so you can try it before you commit.

Do I own my data with us?

Yes. Our Terms say you own the data you put into the service. You can export it as CSV files whenever you like while your account is open. Export before you close the account, because we keep data for a limited period after that and then delete it.
